Los Angeles Philharmonic debut with staged “Missa Solemnis”
Luca Pisaroni makes his Los Angeles Philharmonic debut this month on January 9, 10 & 11, in concerts led by renowned conductor Michael Tilson Thomas. The series features Beethoven’s epic and masterful “Missa Solemnis.” In celebration of his 70th birthday, Tilson Thomas has conceived a staged performance of this spectacular piece, with world premiere video designed by Finn Ross, and directed by James Darrah.
Mr. Pisaroni is joined by a spectacular group of singers for these concerts, including soprano Joélle Harvey, mezzo-soprano Tamara Mumford, and tenor Brandon Jovanovich, as well as the Los Angeles Master Chorale and Children’s Chorus.
Luca joins Maestro Tilson Thomas later this season for a series with the San Francisco Symphony, featuring Stravinsky’s “Pulcinella,” on May 14 & 15.
