2016/17 Season Preview
Luca Pisaroni’s 2016/17 season features a variety of international engagements, including stage appearances throughout Europe and the United States and concerts with some of the world’s finest orchestras.
Following critically acclaimed performances at the Salzburg Festival this summer, Luca Pisaroni begins the 2016/2017 season as Leporello in Mozart’s Don Giovanni at the Berlin Staatsoper (September 22, 25 & 28, and October 1) followed by his role debut as Méphistophélès in Gounod’s Faust at Houston Grand Opera (October 28 & 30, and November 5, 8, 11). He sings the role of Conte Rodolfo in Bellini’s La Sonnambula (January 7, 10, 13) and Méphistophélès at the Wiener Staatsoper (March 18, 21, 25).
Mr. Pisaroni returns to the Metropolitan Opera stage to debut Giorgio in Bellini’s I Puritani, led by Maurizio Benini (February 10, 14, 18, 22, 25, 28). He will then make his highly anticipated debut at Teatro alla Scala as Leporello in Mozart’s Don Giovanni under the baton of Paarvo Järvi (May 6, 9, 12, 14, 17, 19, 28 & 31, and June 3 & 6).
Concert appearances include Rossini’s Stabat Mater at the Musikverein Wien (December 14, 15, 16), Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis for the Elbphilharmonie Opening (January 17), Mozart’s Concert Arias and Schubert’s Orchestrated Songs with the Wiener Virtuosen (March 12) and the Stuttgarter Philharmoniker (March 31 & April 1), Bach’s B Minor Mass with the Gewandhausorchester (June 18), Berlioz’s Romeo and Juliet with Music Director Michael Tilson Thomas and the San Francisco Symphony (June 28, 29 & 30, and July 1). Pisaroni will also perform a series of recitals with pianist Maciej Pikulski including Wigmore Hall (November 20) and Teatro de la Zarzuela (June 20). He will also perform several concerts of “No tenors allowed” in Lisbon (December 21), Vienna (April 3) and Leipzig for the Open Air-Bühne im Rosental (June 23, 24).
