This summer Luca Pisaroni returns to Teatro alla Scala for his staged role debut as Don Pizarro in Beethoven’s Fidelio. After his La Scala debut in 2017 as Leporello in Don Giovanni, Luca adds Don Pizarro, the corrupt prison governor, to his extensive list of repertoire. This production, directed by Deborah Warner, first premiered at the theater in 2014, receiving critical acclaim. This story about a heroine’s triumph over tyranny will return June 18 to July 7, conducted by Myung-Whun Chung, with Stuart Skelton as Florestan, Simone Schneider as Leonore, Eva Liebau as Marzelline, Stephen Milling as Rocco, Martin Gantner as Don Fernando, and Martin Piskorski as Jaquino.
