Luca Pisaroni heads to Geneva for a recital with pianist Malcolm Martineau at the Grand Théâtre de Genève. The program on November 2 includes lieder by Beethoven, Reichardt, and Schubert.

Although known for his portrayals of legendary opera characters, Pisaroni has always been an advocate of art song and believes singing lieder makes one a better musician. In a previous recital dedicated to lieder, Bachtrack heralded Pisaroni:

“His superior singing technique enables him to imbue the text with a wide range of colours. He uses forte judiciously, rendering them all the more powerful, and deploys his lovely mezza voce with heart-wrenching effect. Exemplary diction and idiomatic German ensure that no words got lost, but the beautiful, Italianate legato was never compromised.”
