On October 25 & 27, Luca Pisaroni sings Don Pizarro in concert performances of Beethoven’s Fidelio with the Orchestre Métropolitain in collaboration with Opéra de Montréal. As a prelude to the 250th anniversary of the composer’s birth in 2020, Yannick Nézet-Séguin leads an exceptional international cast including Michael Schade as Florestan, Lise Davidsen as Leonore, Alan Held as Don Fernando, Raymond Aceto as Rocco, Kimy McLaren as Marzelline, and Jean-Michel Richer as Jaquino.

Mr. Pisaroni sang Pizarro for the first time in April 2018 with the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra and later made his staged role debut at the historic Teatro alla Scala that summer, garnering praise from critics for his “convincingly malevolent Don Pizarro” (Bachtrack). With Maestro Nézet-Séguin conducting, Pisaroni sang Figaro on a critically acclaimed recording of Le nozze di Figaro, part of Deutsche Grammophon’s series of seven Mozart operas, released in 2016. The recording, featuring a stellar cast and the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, received the 2017 ECHO Klassik award for “Best Opera Recording.” For more information & purchase links, click here.
