ScrollDamnation of Faust (Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, Heinz Hall, March): Another collaboration between the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and The Mendelssohn Choir, their performance of Berlioz’ “Damnation of Faust” was hair-raising, immaculate and deeply thrilling. Absolutely one of the year’s great concerts.
