This engagement marks Pisaroni’s first staged production of the work, last season he made his debut as the Four Villains in a concert version of the opera at the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden. A live stream of Les Contes d’Hoffmann will be available via the Wiener Staatsoper on Sunday, September 15 beginning at 17:30.

“Luca Pisaroni is a rare singing actor whose characterizations are at once timeless and enlivened by a familiar, modern spirit, whether he is singing Mozart, Rossini, Bellini or the Baroque pastiche of The Enchanted Island. Luca Pisaroni’s commitment to vocal beauty and his passion for dramatic truth make him one of the most compelling singers on the stage today.” (Adam Wasserman, Opera News)
