Luca Pisaroni returns to Opernhaus Zürich to star as King Henry VIII in Donizetti’s Anna Bolena on December 5, 9, 14, 28, 23, 29, January 2, 5, 9, 13. Previously hailed by Bachtrack as “superb in his role as King Henry,” Pisaroni shares the stage with Diana Damrau as the title role and Karine Deshayes as Anne’s rival, Jane Seymour.

The production is in the hands of American stage director David Alden, and Enrique Mazzola, an expert in the Italian bel canto repertoire, is at the podium of the Philharmonia Zürich.

On November 21, there will be an introductory talk about the new Anna Bolena production, with dramaturge Michael Küster is in conversation with David Alden, Enrique Mazzola, and Diana Damrau. Accompanied by Enrico Cacciari, Nadezhda Karyazina, Karine Deshayes, and Pisaroni will perform with musical contributions.
