On May 25 & 29, and June 1 & 7, Luca Pisaroni returns to the Staatsoper Unter den Linden to star as Golaud in Debussy’s ethereal Pelléas et Melisande. Pisaroni took on the role for the first time in 2017 at the Opéra Bastille receiving praise for his performance: “Luca Pisaroni paints a memorable Golaud, with a Mephistopheles look and impeccable diction.” (Bachtrack)

Amidst performances in Handel’s Agrippina with Il Pomo d’Oro, Pisaroni will share the stage with a formidable cast including Rolando Villazón as Pelléas, Marianne Crebassa as Mélisande, Wolfgang Schöne as Arkel, Katharina Kammerloher as Geneviève, with conductor Maxime Pascal leading at the pit. The production is a revival of the groundbreaking production by Ruth Berghaus, with set design and costumes by Hartmut Meyer.
