Luca Pisaroni’s upcoming performances as the title role in Mozart’s Don Giovanni at Opéra national de Paris have been canceled due to coronavirus concerns. Opéra national de Paris released a statement regarding COVID-19 saying:

“In application of the decree published in the Official Journal on March 14, relating to various measures relating to the fight against the spread of the “Covid-19” virus, including the ban on public gatherings of more than 100 people, the Opéra national de Paris is obliged to cancel Don Giovanni, from March 21 to April 24.” For more information regarding their recent cancellations, click here.

Mr. Pisaroni was set to sing the title role in Ivo van Hove’s production, conducted by Philippe Jordan. The top-notch cast was to include Alexander Tsymbalyuk as Il Commendatore, Jacquelyn Wagner as Donna Anna, Stanislas de Barbeyrac as Don Ottavio, Stéphanie d’Oustrac as Donna Elvira, Philippe Sly as Leporello, Mikhail Timoshenko as Masetto, and Zuzana Marková as Zerlina.
