Anna Bolena – Debut in Zürich and a return to Vienna
Luca Pisaroni makes his highly anticipated house debut at the Opernhaus Zürich on March 20, as Enrico VIII in Donizetti’s Anna Bolena. Mr. Pisaroni previously sang the role to great acclaim with the Wiener Staatsoper, both in Vienna and on tour in Tokyo. He is joined by a remarkable cast in Zürich, including Anna Netrebko in the title role, Veronica Simeoni as Jane Seymour, and Ismael Jordi as Lord Percy. Andriy Yurkevych leads the Philharmonia Zürich and Chor der Oper Zürich for this production, directed by Giancarlo del Monaco. Performances take place at the Hauptbühne Opernhaus, on March 20, 24 & 29 and April 2.
He returns to the role and reunites with Netrebko and Yurkevych at the Wiener Staatsoper April 10, 13, 17 & 20, with Ekaterina Semenchuk as Jane Seymour and Celso Abelo as Percy. This Eric Génovèse-directed production also featured Mr. Pisaroni as the King for its debut run and its most recent performances in 2013.
